A privilege for me to work as part of the UNCTAD team to present the Start-Ups & Scale-Ups for SDGs event at the Palais des Nations on Thursday 15th November 2018 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week #GEW2018
I have had the great privilege of working all week with the 12 #start4sdgsyoung entrepreneurs to support them in their preparations for today's @UNCTAD pitching event. You can see them here...and a bit of me...live from the UN Palais des Nations in Geneva #GEW2018 this afternoon.
To wrap up Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018, I'll be running a wellbeing workshop @Soft-Space Geneva for women entrepreneurs 14.00 - 15.30.
I Am Unprecedented® is a wellbeing session for women entrepreneurs, reconnecting you to your creativity, light and energy, so that you are nurtured and rejuvenated for your ‘entrepreneur’s journey.’
With positive practices that centre you on your strengths and give you practical tools for facing the challenges of leading positive change, you will build self-care and self-compassion techniques designed to support you in the day-to-day of living your life purpose.
Come along to network, learn and celebrate as women in business on 17th November. Sign up via https://www.facebook.com/events/2166381723413921/

I'll be there. It's in French and English.
A very handy workshop after the recently published Entrepreneurship Policy Framework on Migrants & Refugees launched by UNCTAD, IOM and UNHCR last week at the World Investment Forum - a fact-based narrative which shows how engaging migrants in entrepreneurship improves the economies of host and home countries alike.
I'm very proud to be part of the @UNCTAD Start-Ups & Scale-Ups for SDGs event again this year.
Register at the link in the picture above and join us to be inspired by the 12 incredible young entrepreneurs at this pitching event.
What makes this event different? Why is it important?
The 12 young entrepreneurs have demonstrated persistence, perseverance and hashtag#resilience, linking their business solutions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals hashtag#SDGs. They show how entrepreneurship is a tool for developing economies wherever you are in the world.

It was amazing seeing The Student Ideas Challenge 2018 come to fruition during the UNCTAD World Investment Forum 2018 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
As part of the Empretec Women In Business Awards it was designed to engage young people ages 8-18 years in exploring entrepreneurship as a key tool in achieving gender equality – Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5). It was sponsored by impact investor Symbiotics SA.
Having worked in collaboration with UNCTAD to prepare the pack, we distributed it to over 200 schools and it was circulated via The Commonwealth Businesswomen’s Network to schools in Commonwealth countries, and via UN Women.
We invited young people, as future innovators and entrepreneurs, to respond to 5 challenges, linked to SDGs 2, 4, 5, 11 and 12; based on an approach for innovation challenges from Flow In Action’s learn to move mountains® workshops for young people and UNCTAD’s Vision youth entrepreneurship training programme
#SDG2 How will you…feed 8.5 billion people by 2030 without doing any damage to the environment?
#SDG4 How will you…create inclusive education for all children using virtual reality?
#SDG5 How will you…use technology to achieve gender equality and end discrimination against women and girls?
#SDG11 How will you…create a sustainable city with no environmental harm to the planet, to revolutionise how 8.5 billion people live together?
#SDG12 How will you…stop clothes going into landfill by reinventing what they are made from?
The submitted posters and short videos from young people with their concepts, were featured in a display in the Pas Perdus in the Palais des Nations, outside the Assembly Hall as part of the World Investment Forum (WIF) 2018 from 22nd to 26th October 2018.
The voices of young people also featured during the Empretec Women In Business Awards ceremony on 25th October 2018, where they shared their ideas, hopes and dreams for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
