Helping MBA students to explore the UN SDGs to achieve sustainability in the energy and transport sector
GRENOBLE ECOLE DE MANAGEMENT
GrenobleEcoledeManagement, a triple-accredited French business school with a unique focus on the Management of Technology & Innovation. It offers over 40 programs from the undergraduate to the doctoral level.
WORKING TOGETHER
Grenoble Ecole de Management invited Elaine, as a visiting lecturer, to run an interactive workshop with MBA students taking the sustainability specialisation, to increase awareness about the UN SDGs to business environments.
The purpose was to enable the MBA students to have a tool for engaging colleagues in discussing and discovering how to implement sustainability solutions in their workplaces or entrepreneurial ventures.
THE APPROACH
Elaine used an innovation idea challenge to introduce the MBA students from global locations and a variety of manufacturing sectors, to the UN SDGs.
This created a safe space to explore what achieving the SDGs at a local level would mean to their teams and business operations in reality; and gave insights into the systems-thinking and of impact across value chains when implementing solutions.
POWERFUL RESULTS
Building awareness of the UN SDGs with MBA students from leading manufacturing businesses from the energy and transport sectors.
Enabling the group to understand the UN SDGs as a system and the impact across value chains of achieving them.
Providing each member of the group with a tool for using with colleagues to create a safe space to explore sustainability and zero-carbon futures.
