Reflective Futures Practices

Sense‑making spaces for re‑orientation, clarity, and ethical action
When to use my reflective practices
You may need Reflective Futures Practices when:
  • you feel the pull to explore new ways of thinking, being and doing
  • your team or organisation feels under pressure to act without clear orientation
  • sustainability or regeneration work feels misaligned, performative, or strained
  • existing strategies no longer feel responsive to current realities
  • there is unease or disagreement about what direction to take next
  • you want to slow down thinking without losing momentum

Choose these before strategy, planning, or major decisions, when what is needed first is shared clarity and re‑orientation.
What my reflective futures practices offer you
My Reflective Futures Practices are facilitated spaces for collective sense‑making. They support you, as individuals and groups, to:

  • pause and reflect without disengaging
  • explore uncertainty without rushing to solutions
  • surface assumptions shaping decisions and narratives
  • reconnect imagination with care, ethics, and responsibility
  • imagine futures grounded in belonging, place, and relationship with Nature

Rather than focusing on outputs, these practices focus on how you can imagine and act with others - because that is what ultimately shapes transformational change.
Formats for my reflective
practices
Each engagement is tailored to context, while remaining grounded in the same ethical and practice framework.

  • half‑day or full‑day facilitated sessions
  • leadership or team retreats
  • small‑group reflective workshops
  • facilitated dialogues during periods of transition
  • embedded reflective futures spaces within programmes or projects
Narrating Regenerative Futures from Belonging
This core practice supports you to:
  • notice the stories and assumptions already shaping your work
  • explore how identity, culture, and place influence imagination
  • imagine multiple regenerative futures without extraction or urgency
  • practice narration as a bridge between imagination and enactment
  • stay accountable to relationships — human and more‑than‑human

This is not visioning, forecasting, or scenario planning.
It is a practice of collective imagination — where futures are explored as relational, ethical, and lived.

Who reflective futures practices are for
Think about embedding reflective futures practices if you are:

  • leadership teams
  • sustainability and change practitioners
  • organisations navigating regeneration or transition
  • foundations, trusts, and programme leads
  • teams working across difference, uncertainty, or complexity

No prior experience with futures methods is required
My Reflective Futures Practices are not:

  • innovation or ideation workshops
  • solution‑generation sessions
  • strategy or planning meetings (though they may later inform them)
  • coaching or performance optimisation
  • consultations designed to validate predetermined outcomes

We are focused on cultivating the conditions for wiser action, rather than replaying old ways of doing things.
Participants often notice afterwards that they have:
  • clearer shared language for what feels stuck or misaligned
  • reduced pressure to have all of the answers
  • renewed trust in collective thinking
  • different conversations happening naturally afterwards
  • better conditions for subsequent strategy or engagement work

These shifts are subtle — and foundational.
I'd love to explore how I can support you to create flourishing futures
