Empower children and youth to imagine climate action solutions for your community. Your students will use the challenge-based learning activity to play with ideas using futures-thinking and design solutions around the flourishing of people and planet. As they explore UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities at a local level, they learn design and systems thinking. The approach builds their wellbeing, thinking skills and creates a starting point for on-campus climate action.

From the very first interaction I had with Elaine, two things were clear: she knew what she was talking about and she had what it takes to help my students raise the game. Elaine was easily reachable and extremely proactive, which meant that she already had a strong sense of what we were trying to achieve before she had even set the foot in our school. Sharing the core values of our school as well as deeply connecting with her target audience, Elaine led our students to go beyond what I thought them capable of, embracing and making their own the notions of 'value proposition', 'value chain structure', 'profitability model' as well as 'social, ecological and leadership awareness'. Suddenly the UN Sustainable Development Goals were no longer an element you needed to refer to at some point in your presentation but a clear call to action that resonated in all the students' decisions...'

leading the problem-solving
The learn to move mountains® innovation and entrepreneurship activities prepare children and young people to lead the problem-solving - locally and globally - of real-world sustainability challenges.
The approach empowers them as flourishing, values-driven global citizens, connecting them to imagination, creativity and capacity to ‘make a difference' by being themselves. |
increasing wellbeing
I want every child to believe in themselves, so challenges and workshops are inclusive 'change-maker spaces' for everyone, regardless of their academic ability.
I use a strengths-based problem-solving approach, inspiring hope that every person's contribution counts, as they learn to love their imagination and value their own creativity. |
developing resilience
The approach embeds resilience by exploring challenges, as they learn to adapt, change perspective and reframe failure as a trigger for creating more effective solutions.
Taking the risk on turning their ideas into reality for causes that they care about, provides a sense of purpose and pathway for action. |
building entrepreneurial mindset
Activities embed the entrepreneurial mind-set that they need to take action, preparing them to be ‘job creators’ rather than ‘job seekers’ in today’s world.
As they explore how to have ideas and turn them into reality, they build essential Industry 4.0 skills – design thinking, systems thinking, empathy, communication, teamwork, collaboration, leadership. |
having a voice through storytelling
Through storytelling and pitching, I give them a voice as problem-solvers for the planet, showing them how to share their solutions on solving real-world problems within their community and further afield.
Young people feel empowered and optimistic that their unique blend of thinking and experience counts. |
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Challenges
I design and deliver innovation challenges based on the Sustainable Developments Goals for children and youth (ages 6-18 years), as one-off events, programmes of activities, curricula and lesson plans, and as part of bigger events with partners such as UNCTAD.
Increasing Impact for Service & Citizenship Programmes
I work with you to integrate activities into your existing global citizenship, entrepreneurship and service learning programmes, to increase their positive impact; as well as increase engagement with young people.
Train-the-Trainer
I capacity-build skills within your organisation to enable your team to lead activities and develop global citizenship and entrepreneurship activities and programmes designed around wellbeing, bringing fresh perspectives from social innovation and entrepreneurship spaces.
